Little Edie's eyesight and hairloss
Watching this for a second time, it's wonderful how quickly the film establishes its unique mood.
In a very short time we are introduced to Little Edie's sense of humour, her exhibitionism, and her practical unashamed methods for dealing with hairloss (scarves, but no wigs) and poor eyesight (reading with a magnifying glass).
It's clear from the beginning that her strengths and weaknesses are going to be shown with equal honesty, by her and the film makers.
It's a great start to a great film.
