2 things I'm trying to understand

1. How does the race work? If you score by killing, does rank matter? Or is ranking another part of the final score?

2. If the old lady had the opportunity to shoot Frankenstein (it was Anne but she didn't know), why in God's name didn't she shoot the president? They were shoulder by shoulder!

reply

I think scoring points takes priority over rank because the announcer says something like Machine gun Joe is way ahead on points to Frankenstein and could still win if he crosses the finishing line second

reply

It's just, if rank doesn't matter that much, I'm just gonna drive around for a month to kill as many as possible. A race can't be over if a racer is still on the road.

Yeah, they didn't clear that up which would have been interesting to hear as they should explain the rules to the audience anyways.

I'd assume since they said there were two 12 hour stops, that the rules are it can only last three days. But it would be nice if they said that.

Also assassinating Frankenstein didn't make sense when that woman's life mission was stopping the president. I know she thought he killed her grand-daughter, but she could have shot them both. This reminds me of a bad John Carpenter short (Pro Life) where a christian father forgets his mission to save his daughter and instead wastes precious time torturing a doctor. It makes no sense, except to allow another film character to accomplish their goals in a surprising fashion. Once again, it's some poor writing.

Yea it's like NASCAR, you can win the season's title without ever coming in 1st in any race by placing
second in a whole bunch of races.

They didn't go into the scoring system, but presumably it's a combination of the two. Sort of like NASCAR - one season Matt Kenseth won the championship despite never winning any races.

And it's explained that the old lady is fixated on killing Frankenstein as a symbol. If she just killed the President, then presumably another mobster would just take over.

But by Frankenstein killing the president, he could take over.

reply

Frankenstein didn't originally intend to take over. His plan was to sacrifice himself: grab the President's hand and detonate the grenade, killing both of them.
