Confusing ending.

*Spoiler alert* - Ending discussed here.

I don't understand the ending. Jerry Bolanti got whacked in an auto graveyard and the man behind his death was a guy on his side (I think). And the guy who owned/operated the auto graveyard was also on the side of Jerry Bolanti but let the hit go down anyways.

Can someone explain this?

I would think that Gus was probably scared, and rightfully so. That would make sense to me.

Jerry Bolanti, as cool as he was, was doing one stupid thing after another + clearly we were watching a man who was living out the last days of his life. Since he was living on borrow time it is natural that Gus and everyone else would distance themselves from Jerry. Gus probably liked Jerry, but Gus didn't strike me as the type of guy who would make a stand against Anthony.

If a guy with Anthony's clout called Gus and said "you are gonna do this or else" Gus wouldn't have many options. I thought that the guy who played Gus did a great job at the end of the film. He looked very conflicted; hence realizing that the contract was already in the works there is also the posibility that Gus sold Jerry out. It was only a matter of time anyway.

Either way, I liked the ending a lot.

They always send some one you trust to set up the hit on you remember GOODFELLAS! He freaked out on the boss and you don't do that.

okay here goes. jerry was getting to big for his britches, stepped on a few toes, and other bosses probably mentioned to jerry's boss that he has to go ,, that's how the mob works. living in jersey and reading the papers all the time about the South Philly Mob, and Teflon Don, i have a pretty good idea that's what happened in the movie.

works for me

The way Jerry gets shot to pieces and keeps moving reminded me of Sonny getting whacked in the Godfather.
