Glynn Turman Almost 30 in this role???

Unbelievable! I was watching on Bounce network today and was shocked to find out that he was 28 when this was made. Maybe he pulled it off because he was skinny? lol! LHJ was 22 which is closer to H.S. age, but still...

Yes, I guess that's good genes and good living on Glynn Turman's part. And I was surprised myself when I first heard how he old he was while making the film. I assumed his age to be 18 or 19, or at most, 23 years old.

But that's nothing new. Hollywood has pushed aside age in movie roles going waaay back. There are many examples. Take the movie "Scarface" (1983) for instance. Miriam Colon was playing Al Pacino's mother in that movie ("Mama Montana"). Now the age of Al Pacino's character ("Tony Montana") and Miriam's was never mentioned in the movie, but one could guess that Al Pacino's character was in his 30's. Miriam's character should have been at least in her 50's, so about twenty years difference in the movie.

In real life Miriam Colon was born in 1936 (age 47 in 1983), Pacino was born in 1940 (age 43 in 1983). So in real life there was only 4 years difference in their actual age. But again Miriam was playing Al Pacino's mother in the movie.

In "The Asphalt Jungle" Sidney Poitier and Vic Morrow were twenty-eight.
