Why Were They Always Running?

What was the big hurry?

reply

they had a lot of energy.

reply

And they were having a great time!

People always ran alot more back in the 60's/70's. Before cable T.V. and video games.

reply

Yeah, there sure wasn't much back then, lol.

reply

Wouldn't that make them look suspicious of doing stuff?

reply

In these days, you know it.

reply

It was just to show that they were young and carefree. Theres a great reprieve to this in Preach's poem that he reads at the end of the movie, kinda brings it all full circle.

"A commitment to cinema means to lead a technically deviant lifestyle."

Wow lol u took the words right out of my mouth. I asked my uncle the same thing the other day while we were watching the movie(he was about the same age they were at the time) He told me your legs back then were like having a car, running was the fastest way to go lol

reply

i would think the same thing.these were inner-city kids and they weren't going to be catching cabs to go somewhere.

reply

It's on MGM right now.

reply

The running was to illustrate their youth and energy. The same way the Beatles were always running in their movies, and the Monkees were always running in their tv show.
