December 2007 remake????

I just saw a trailer on the Apple site for a film with Harry Connick Jr, and Ashly Judd titled 'Bug'.
The plot doesn't really come across as being any similar, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to be a remake of the '75 flick.
Anyone have any insightes?

1975 one's based on The Hephaestus Plague book by Thomas Page
2007 one's based on the play Bug by Tracy Letts

Even though there is no connection, both the Friedkin and Castle films are terrific and would make a great double bill.
