Did Mel appear in an episode?

On the last episode: This Lance For Hire, the sheriff called for various archers to take their places. There was one guy that popped up in a castle window, dressed in a guard's uniform. My copy wasn't very clear, but it looked like Mel Brooks to me. Can anyone verify if that was him?

Mel definitely shows up in episode 1. Also in 2, I think. That's as far into Rotten as I've so far gotten.
