Did Julie and/or Barbara Ever Go Stay With Dad?
Shouldn't there have been a few episodes showing visitation at Ed's?
I know it's hard to maintain long distant friendships, but perhaps this could also have been addressed.
There were lots of episodes where the girls were just coming back from Ed's; one of them (usually Julie) was absent from the episode, and Ann had a phone call from her (we heard only Ann's side) at Ed's; or the girls were planning or packing for a trip to Ed's, or somewhere with him. However, there was no "Ed's house" set. The show was not about Ed, and an episode absent Ann, showing the girls at their father's was not what the show was about, so it would have been an expense the budget didn't need.
If the show had focused on the girls, and how they handled divorce, it might have been appropriate, but the show was primarily about Ann. The girls were an integral part of her world, but ultimately Ann was the POV character.
