What was the Oriiginal Plan for "Julie" Character?

Were all of the quirks and problems faced by Julie from the minds of the writers or was MP life intentionally incorporated into the script?

Had MP not had all of her own problems was Julie intended to go in another direction such as college, professional career, etc?

I've often wondered this, too. I don't know if anyone has the answers though.

I'm not sure. From the start of the series, she was the wilder sister, the one with the bad reputation. I have no idea how much of what happened later was planned, and how much was real life writes/inspires the script.
