Nannette Fabray was wonderful
She was so animated and silly. I laugh every time she's on screen.

shareI just turn it off. I don't like ham.
"No! That’s not true at all. Elvis takes fifty percent of everything I earn." Col. Parker
What an ignorant jack-ass half-baked opinion.
Nanette Fbray is a clasic comedian who worked with Sid Caeser and other earlt TV greats.
...and she's certainly more entertaining than these so called 'comedy actresses' of today ,who think being funny means ,making yourself into a total clueless idiot or saying things they think are funny and they're not.
Nannette could out act and certainly do comedy better than Melissa McCarthy ,Tina Fey or any of today's comdiennes...who by the way would have admiration and respect for her ,as one ofthe true grand ladies of comedy.

If you like Nanette you should watch The Band Wagon, one of my favorite musicals!
Here is one musical number with Nanette in it! It's the first time they sing this song in the movie, and they sing it again in the end!

If you watched the recent ODAAT episode with the cast doing various musical numbers, you will recognize this song from that episode (this song was the finale)
Of course, there is the notorious "Triplets" number:

You can also see Nanette (as herself) as the "Mystery Celebrity" on a 1956 episode of "What's My Line?" I believe this show was aired "live"
Her segment starts at about 15:45:

She's 94 now!
I like her! I'm always happy when she is in the ep. I'm like Oh good Grandma Romano is on!! She is fun and silly! Really ads something to the ep. She's such a cute old lady too!
shareShe was annoying
shareDo you ever do anything on this board apart from creating sockpuppets to keep complaining about the characters?
shareOh brother , seriously another IMDB NAZI police posting.
No I do not create sockpuppet accounts like you probably do.
I have one account and quite frankly if you dont like it then that's your problem.
So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journeyshare
Well, I don't care for this account of yours, and if you had others I'd probably feel the same about them. It doesn't loom large enough on my horizon to constitute a problem, but apparently this show is enough of a problem for you that you can't stop compulsively kvetching about it.

Oh no, you mean I don't get treated to anymore of your stimulating conversation and deep intellectual insights? Woe is me.
To Whiskers ....hey guess what?
Nanette is out to annoy you by still being around at age 95!
So ha,ha,ha! By the way, you've been on, nearly
10 years now....can;t you find something better to do?
Go for it or just be a gopher!

While I certainly don't want to incur the wrath of a happipuppi or jump into this PBS level debate...I have to say Grandma Romano was my least favorite regular character on the show. nothing against Nannette Fabray and not slighting her contributions, but there was just something in her character (and frankly the delivery) that just set my nerves on edge every time. There are a lot of shows that have that one character that are either written or acted in a way that make my teeth itch (for example, Skippy on Family Ties or Chekov on Star Trek or the entire cast of Step By Step).
It just happens and I don't believe it's a bad thing. Not everyone loves the same thing. Which is why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors.
Only 31??
LOL
I agree; I never liked Katherine Romano either.
In fact, I can't decide who was more annoying: Katherine or Schneider.

Just saw a rerun of an ep with her and Shelley. Such beautiful ladies. Saw Nanette on Laramie weeks ago. So classy and lovable. And Shelley. Wow! I still remember her guesting on The Love Boat and Mork & Mindy.
