Does anyone know when the complete box set of One Day At A Time will come out on dvd?
I've been waiting for a very long time to buy this series on dvd.

Only the first season is out on DVD.

Having seen the earlier seasons on Antenna TV as reruns, there were some pretty severe tape issues in parts of at least half a dozen episodes. If Antenna TV was using copies of the "master tapes" for their broadcasts, that could be causing expensive problems for even trying to bring the series out on DVD, or better formats. It looked like there were issues of "tape stretching" that persisted for as much as a few minutes. Roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of the frame was affected, and the affected portion moved up or down during that period, appearing to be a head tracking problem.
Fixing/restoring those episodes would be quite a trick.
Then we get to things like music rights, which has held up other movies and TV shows in the past.
Another further complication is how the series has not 'aged' all that well, IMHO.
Some of the issues episodes touch on are still valid these days. Many others are no longer timely.
There is still hope of sorts.
The series MAD ABOUT YOU was originally released on DVD, but minus the last few seasons. It has been re-released with all the seasons recently, in a complete series set, priced around $30. Wow!
However, the reviews of that release are not that good for the transfer. Several claim the whole series is in roughly VHS quality. That would be far less than the previous DVD season releases. It does happen to be the only home version of those final seasons that never got a DVD release previously. SO, good-news-bad-news.
But that does give some hope for ODAAT, eventually.
