Lord, Julie was such a bitch

I mean her character drove me crazy. It seemed like every episode that was primarily involving her character turned into a Julie rebellious rant. She always wanted her own way and then would go into these tantrums and arguments. Ive never seen anyone be such a bitch about everything. Even when she was an adult, her and max were both annoying. I wish phillips had been fired for good the first time she screwed up.

Her tantrums during the runaways episodes made me wish she would have left and not come back. I think she was much better / more fun to watch during the older man arc. Unfortunately in later seasons she treats Max like utter garbage for no reason. I hope that was just the writing, but regardless, its hard to watch and does not endear the character to the audience.

In "The Older Man" episode, after telling Ann twice to shut up, she sarcastically says, "You lonely mom? You want him?" Ann slapped the taste out of her mouth!

Julie stood in shock as if she did nothing wrong. What would you expect? Telling your mom twice to shut up?

I can't blame Julie for yelling, "Shut up, Mom!"
Ann was ranting like a banshee and hurling insults at Paul.

If I were Julie, I'd smack that bitch right back!

Damn right. Ann was a tasmanian devil. She'd get angry like once an episode and start spinning and burrowing a hole into the floor while her eyes crossed and she spat venom and backwards foreign languages.

The conflict between Julie and Ann really drove a lot of the storyline on the show. Once Julie was removed from the show, it left the show out of balance, and they started adding all these extra characters to compensate for it. But that only made things worse.

I thought Ann was a good mother but on this occasion she handled the situation badly. Julie wasn't the wisest person in the world but Ann screaming hysterically at her didn't help at all.

Lord, yes. I am watching the episode where she, Max and the baby show up and announce that they are moving back to Ann's. This was right after Barbara and Mark congenially ask if they can stay at Ann's for a while. Julie just comes in and steamrolls over everyone in that bitchtroll-from-hell way she has, and then calls Max a coward because he doesn't want to quit his job...I literally had to stop the show and Google "one day at a time julie is a bitch" so I could spread some hate around.
