Baretta movie?

If they ever made a big screen update of "Baretta", who would you want to see as Baretta? IMDB did a poll of what tv shows made into movies ud like to see, and they suggested Colin Farrell for the role. I think he'd do an excellent job. Him or Tom Welling. What do you guys think?

It would have to be someone short. If Joe Peschi was a little younger, he would suffice nicely.

Joe Pesci would've been perfect as Baretta. Why Colin Farrell? He's not even Italian in the first place and doesn't even have the personality for the character.
