IMDb aggregate rating only 6.9
Kind of surprising. I guess today's audiences aren't as impressed as 70s viewers were.

shareIt's because they're a bunch of MORONS. They wouldn't know a great movie even if Speilberg shi*t out a copy of Schindlers List on their heads

I was also surprised a the low average rating. And it is interesting that if you look at the average ratings of all age and sex groups, they all hover around 6.9. I rated it a 10. I tend to be generous in my ratings, but I really loved the film- back in 1975 when I saw it for the first time- and today.
shareSeems about right to me. It's entertaining due to the great special effects and stunt work but is by no means a great film. It's just 2.5 hours of disaster/fire porn with good actors doing decent but unremarkable work.
And you can't really blame the low rating on today's audiences because they are not even watching this.
Disagree - you can definitely blame lower ratings on today's audiences. Go fly a kite, ya Dink.
shareI gave this a 5
No way the worst film but was just very long though the fire did start right away.
being over 130 floors does this make the building taller the the old WTC towers?

You're an IDIOT who has no clue what makes a good film. Go back to watching your Transformers movies and you'll be happier
shareCorky 666,
Have some respect for other people's opinions. You sound like an aging boomer that can't accept the passing of time. Each generation has their own zeitgeist and pop culture. And each generation has an older generation saying how horrible the current movies and music are. My parents did it and so did yours. And now you're doing it.
This thread is funny LoL 😂
This movie isn't even talked about anymore. "Jaws" is. "Star Wars" is. "The towering inferno" wasn't even popular with kids in the 1970's. It was aimed at an older demographic as it was.
I gave it a 10/10.
Problem should be fixed now.
