Its a cadaver. Watch it closely --- if you really WANT to, that is --- and you'll believe it. The pressure of the blade pushes the eye inwards, tugging on the eyelids. The eyelashes are extremely convincing as well. The kicker is when one observes the surface of the eye, which SHOULD be wet, yet has an obvious coating of dust on it. I think the dust is likely makeup powder, left there after the face was made up for the shot.
Yeah, I definitely think it's a cadaver. I mean, you can just tell it's the real thing when you see the scalpel poke the eyeball. Normally I'd be repulsed, but I actually thought the effect was... well, effective. :)
I have known Christina for over 20 years (and her late spouse Bosse as well), and she confirmed years ago it's a real corps they used. Not only that, it was shot in the morgue at on of the big hospitals in Stockholm without any permission at all!! The director knew someone working there, and payed him well so they could sneak in at night time and shot the close up of the eye!
