Rating
At Blockbuster's website, it says this movie is rated R. Is it actually R, NR or NC-17?
"Revenge is a dish best served cold."

It's unrated.
shareUnrated as in ANYONE can rent it with parental consent?
"Revenge is a dish best served cold."
I don't know how that sort of thing works in the US, as I'm from the UK. All I know is that the DVD has not been rated. I would assume (although I could of course be wrong) that only adults can rent it, but you probably have a better idea of how laws regarding this sort of thing work in the US than I do.
shareNever trust blockbuster they don't know *beep*. It is unrated by the mpaa and for that reason you're not going to find it at blockbuster or hollywood video for rental, you will have to seek it out at a hole in the wall video store. A lot of cult rental places will not rent unrated movies to people under 17 though. I would just suggest ordering it from xploitedcinema.com and if you are under 18 just lie about your age.
share*beep* Blockbuster,they suck.
shareSorry, mondoholocaust, but actually Hollywood (not Blockbuster) rents Unrated films all the time, and I'm pretty sure I saw this there. I'm not sure about the second part. I saw many very violent movies there, all Unrated.
sharewe do have 1 hollywood video out of probably 10 in my area that does have unrated films but they definitely don't have thriller. the most disturbing thing they carry is probably the untold story.
where i live they seem to tend to stock things they know will do well like major hollywood films and that *beep* people pass off as independent even though it has major hollywood stars and is made by a lesser known company that is owned by the major companies.
i would definitely say its still best to find a local video rental place, especially one that deals in cult movies, and get it there. then you're also supporting your local economy instead of throwing your money away to corporations.
Hollywood carries unrated titles at the ones I've been too. Blockbuster tries to be a "family" store, which is ridiculous, because R-rated films aren't family friendly anyway.
The movie is unrated but if submitted to the ratings board would certainly get an X, not an NC-17.
It's not a very good movie. The pacing is horrendously slow and you're more likely to be bored by the revenge scenes than shocked. It's got one of the slowest gun fights in history.
This film is available in two formats; a version with hardcore porn inserts, and also a slightly edited version that simply removes the closeups of penetration. Both versions are unrated, but the new cut version might get by with an 'R' rating in the States. But i wouldn't show even the cut version to children.
