The Slow Motion fights killed it for me!

I was really enjoying the build up...true "Grindhouse" goodness...up to those slow motion shots...the first one was acceptable, but the director did it again & again...and AGAIN! The last straw was one eyes fight with the 2 officers...geez, talk about slowing down the action! I had to FFWD (2x) during that scene & saw the scene in "regular" motion...I now know WHY it was slowed down. lol.

This movie was a 7.5/10 up to this point...then it turned into a 6/10 after the slow motion fights and the death of the main villian which was too quick & WEAK for the likes of his a$$

I agree with you, the slow motion shots were way over done, they are funny as hell though!

Yeah the slow-mo scenes killed it for me too. I watched it at a Horror Movie Convention and quite a few people thought the same thing

Hey, you know what's funny? If you FFWD the shots in '2x' you'll get the slow-mo scenes in real time! Looks so WEAK and FAKE!!

The slow mo shots were overdone, but I still thought it was a good movie. One of my guesses is that due to the budget and lack of resources, they went that route to avoid overly amateur looking fight scenes. That's probably why they couldn't get some huge graphic death for the villian. I think the way he was killed was fine, they just needed to go into a bit more detail, maybe they could have added an eye gouging for good measure. I think a remake could improve on these aspects alot, but it would probably end up loosing some of the better aspects, possibly to the point of it not being worth it.

I quite liked that bit. Must have been absolutely spectacular back in the day.

What I liked a lot less whas that pointless car chase, which wasn't even a real chase as there was no one following her... Just her driving really fast in a stolen police car (with the siren on, always a good idea when you are leaving the scene of a crime) and getting a bunch of innocent motorists killed for no reason.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.
