Why can't they get the dates right?

1973, March 1974, phooey!

The Three Musketeers was in theaters as a first-run film in September, 1974. I remember the hoopla and anticipation the week before the film was released and had the pleasure of seeing it opening night--my 3rd day in a new college and my first date with my future bride.

September 1974 is the month of first release. The Four Musketeers followed the next year, 1975.

C'mon, it wasn't some unheard-of indie--it was a major film with an all-star cast. How hard is it to get something so simple right? What other errors are there on this site?

Makes you wonder about IMDB's data.

It was premiered in Paris in December 1973.

"Tinkerty tonk," I said, and I meant it to sting.

I saw this film in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I lived between September '73 and July '74. If the original poster is right, it must have had a later release in the USA.

I don't remember what month I saw the film, but I do remember that I was a civilian with long hair when I saw it. I enlisted and when on active duty on 24 May 1974, so that narrows the time frame quite a bit. By the time that the Four Musketeers came out I was in language school in Monterey. So, it seems to me that IMDB got the dates correct.
