As someone who watched it for the first time recently

Last summer, the girl I was dating had me watch the 2003 remake with her.
While it was enjoyable, I did have an inkling to see the original.
Funny enough I saw the dvd of it at a thrift store but then like a month or so later saw it at a flea market too, but this said special edition, different cover.

Both are the same pioneer dvd disc of it, one released in 98, other in 2003.
Wish the widescreen was anamorphic, but I zoom in, it kinda adds to it not being crystal clear.

Anyways I enjoyed the original much more, has a way more creepy vibe to it, and doesnt seem to be doing stuff just for shock value, but for reason.

Oh yea I also just watched the sequel since its on youtube for free, while enjoyable, its more inline with 80s horror films, which I do like, but doesnt feel close to the original.
