Composites and the Road to Fact

The ODESSA File employs, of necessity, character and dramatic composites as does much filmography, especially in the film production of documentary works of novels or biography. A great example is "A Beautiful Mind".

Personally, I was fortunate to secure the veracity of the Egyptian rockets based near Cairo in Helwan, Egypt. Nearly half of my verifications came from Gentiles.

Sources, similarly informed came from retired IDF officers and operators in Israel's enternal intelligence agency.

This movel and film, The ODESSA File, are by no means fantasy or invention of the author.

Those who elect to chose to negate its fundamental documentary accuracy are working from another agenda. I cast no aspersions.

I cast no doubt on its fundamental accuracy.

Frederick Forsythe was noted for writing very plausible and timely spy novels, with a very good basis in facts. "The Day of the Jackal" is another one of his novels that I enjoy because it is so plausible. The original film version was very good at portraying the novel, too, I think.
