12 Good men and true

Col. Arbuthnot (I think that is how you spell it, Sean Connery) said he would have liked to see Ratchett tried by 12 good men and true (i.e. a jury) and at the end that is what they say happened. But, if you think about it, there is no way they could have been the jury. All the jury members are supposed to be impartial, not know any of the accused and not be biased towards the accused. All these people definitely would have had reason and desire to find him guilty.

He didn't mean a jury of the passengers, but a regular jury. And he means symbolically that he was tried by jury, but in this case if was the Armstrong family and friends.
