How about that... for insouciant acting?
I just saw a screening of this in LA and that moment easily got the biggest laugh of the whole movie. Fantastic performance by Gielgud (redundant, I know).
It can only be attributable to human error.
He was really great! I'm with Poirot when he finds him so funny.
