Curse you, Peter Sellers!
For doing such a close imitation of Finney's already caricature-ish rendition. Now it's impossible for me to watch this film without laughing!

Are you referring to Clouseau (which of course predates this movie) or did Sellers actually do a Finney Poirot imitation that I'm not aware of?
This is not my signature. This is IMDb's automatic translation of my signature.
Well, I've always considered his Clouseau to have that Poirot-spoof element (even more so in the 70's when that silly accent kicked in), right down to the 'monologue amongst all the suspects' bit. But he took this connection even further with a direct homage to this film in "The Pink Panther strikes again", where Clouseau disguises himself and the result looks exactly like Finney's Poirot, right down to the ridiculous hunched posture & curled moustache. So now I can't watch this film without thinking of Clouseau vacuuming a parrot!

You shouldn't be referring to Sellers, but to... perhaps... JAMES COCO in MURDER BY DEATH?

And then there's that, sure...completely forgot about him.
