Name some signs of influence Python have had on culture (outside of the world of comedy). - Superunknovvn
In "Burning down the House," the Season Three episode of
Northern Exposure, one of the characters, Chris Stevens, a deejay with artistic ambitions, builds a trebuchet (a medieval siege weapon) and plans to flings a cow to create a "pure moment." When he is told that Monty Python had already done that, he is forced into an "artistic crisis" as he does not want to repeat what has been done before.
As
Northern Exposure is often considered to be a comedy-drama, this may only half-qualify. The trebuchet did return the following season to create a very poignant dramatic moment, though.
