Queen Elizabeth ocean liner Rusting in Hong Kong Harbour

Of historic importance (or unimportance), there is a brief scene
of the Queen Elizabeth hulk rusting in Hong Kong Harbour. Right
after this movie was made, the rusting ship was dismantled since
it was a shipping hazard.
The Queen Elizabeth was the world's biggest passenger ocean liner since it was built around 1940 until Cunard sold it
in 1968 - not enough passengers sailing then. During World
War 2, it was a troop ship.
I saw this ship in 1955 when it stopped in Halifax, Nova Scotia,
for repairs - it docked for only a few hours on its way to NY.
It was a beautiful, gigantic ship steel blue sides with top half
white and 2 large red funnels. From the dock looking up, it
appeared to be 10 stories high, at least.
Thanks to this movie I saw this ship at its end - sad though.

I looked that up after I saw the movie, too. It was sad. I'd love to have seen it in person. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing.

Thanks for that Info I was wondering about that ship.

A rich guy bought it to turn into a floating university....odd. But it burnt down in mysterious circumstance - fires started in multiple locations at once, consequently it was insured for more than twice its purchase price.
