Britt Ekland and Maud Adams

Anyone here think they talked to each other in their native language (Swedish) between takes?

reply

I believe there was something about that in either the one of commentaries or the featurettes.

Ok, I'll check the commentaries next time I'm watching the DVD. Thanks

What a question. Why wouldn't they?

reply

What's more interesting is that Christopher Lee spoke swedish with them ^^

In my dreams I'd like to think there was usage of tongues, native or otherwise. If Maud's character wasn't so damaged, and Goodnight so jealous where Bond was concerned, he might've been able to work a mΓ©nage, instead of resigning Britt to the closet....to listen.

reply

No, they only talked to each other in Latin.

i love the reply "why wouldn't they?", i don't know what menage means but there is a cool promotional photo where they both lock arms with nick nack, a frequent buzz on this board is which of the two you prefer, it's been a while since i've seen the movie but mary goodnight was cute and girlish though she looks more far out on the movie poster, while it's the opposite with andrea, she was more like a movie star beauty, and she's the only one to appear in three bond movies since she has a cameo in a view to a kill, i've never been able to spot it myself but i think it's confirmed even by the actress herself, she was way more beautiful in octopussy than this though, pretty neat how moore and a bond girl from the early 70s at the start of his record bond run starred together again a decade later in one of his final movies, i'm pretty sure moore must have had her in mind when he joked "when the bond girls are your mothers age when you started playing bond you know it's time to quit", she really isn't the main girl in the man with the golden gun, also her destiny in this is so sad, she goes through the movie being abused then, spoiler, gets killed off, i know moore had it as a principle never to say who his favorite bond girl was but it seems pretty obvious from different comments and such that it was maud adams, by the way, here's something funny, i've read that moore picked a movie role because his co star would be sophia loren, then for some reason it didn't go as planned and another actress was put in the part.
