What this Bond film is lacking is...

For me, what is the most lacking in this film is a villain that is intent on world domination, or some other megalomaniacal enterprise.

When you get right down to it, the only thing evil about Scaramanga is being a killer for hire, and murdering his way to gain control of a company that, in the end, only wanted to sell solar power to the highest bidder, using stolen solar cell technology.

They seem to have addressed this issue in the later Bond film "Die Another Day"; where the villain was going to use solar power to start a war, rather than just getting rich.

Yep, your right, still good though. Maybe bond got to him before he went along that particular path....

Not every Bond villain can be obsessed with the proverbial world domination. There has to be variation to keep things interesting. Besides, towering Christopher Lee is one of cinema's top villain actors. So, even if the character he's playing isn't conquering the planet, he still comes off quite formidable and worthy of 007's attention.

Not to mention his three nipples!
