"Mame" - 1996 BBC concert starring Julia McKenzie

Some kind soul has just uploaded a BBC Radio concert version of "Mame" (in its glorious entirety!) onto YouTube:

Although nearly twenty years old (and missing a few bits here and there), it's lovely to have another full, wonderfully orchestrated recording of "Mame" in English. I know the OBC is pretty special (and we didn't need Anniversary and London recordings, as with HELLO, DOLLY!) but I wouldn't object to a new "Mame" album for the 21st century. I won't hold my breath, of course.

And here's Act Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGUwE2bHRqU

Although I've long been aware that McKenzie is an accomplished musical theater performer (I saw her on Broadway in 1977 in SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM), I didn't know about this.

Found a cast list at Broadway.com:
Julia McKenzie (Mame Dennis), Libby Morris (Vera Charles), David Kernan (Beauregard), Claire Moore (Agnes Gooch), Robert Meadmore (Patrick Dennis), Eiji Kusuhara (Ito), Jon Lee (Patrick Dennis at 10), Jean Reeve (Madame Branislowski/ Mother Burnside/ Mrs. Upson), Bob Sessions (Mr. Babcock), Howard Attfield (Mr. Upson), Stephen Hill (Uncle Jeff), The Stephen Hill Singers

David Kernan appeared with McKenzie in the London and NY productions of SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM.

In my case, self-absorption is completely justified.
