I was looking at all the ages of the stars that made this movie. They were all well over 21 when this movie was made. I guess back in this era there were not too many teen stars the way there is so many now. If they made this movie over today, they would have a field day picking out teen or near teen actors and actresses.
shareGood point, both about this film and today's casting choices. I thought it was pretty obvious that no one playing a high-schooler here was actually high school age, but that was fairly common until the Rat Pack of the '80s (many of whom were still older than they teens they played, but not by much).
At least the "teens" here don't have thinning hair, like in "Porky's." ;-)
There were plenty of teen stars back then, the question was could they act? Most werent classicly trained and typically were thrown in front of the camera simply for their looks. Unlike today back then you had to have talent and could deliver on command. Today if this movie was made it would be loaded w ex disney nickelodeon pop singer-ish type youngsters, people w youtube popularity and who knows what else. This wasnt the greatest film but it holds its own against anything out today.
shareOne cool thing is that since the actors were in their 20's in 1974, they actually remembered the 50's & what they were like.
