Only if you like X-rated, poorly acted, B-movie, drive-in fare in the vein of Roger Corman's 'New World' films of the mid '70's. (ie. 'The Big Doll House')

Well, you've probably given in to your temptation and seen the film by now. But in case you haven't, I have to disagree with the poster that said this movie was "hilarious". It really isn't. Its just BAD and the torture scenes will truly disgust you. The gore IS very convincing (basically "snuff" quality), but trust me, this film is not a good time. Its either despicably cruel torture scenes or tedious, passionless sex scenes.
I know that description is probably wanting to make you see the film even more, but hear me out: this movie's real problem isn't the violence, but rather the complete joylessness of the whole enterprise. Noone in this film seems to be having any fun...its like porn in that sense (only porn is usually more joyful than this garbage). Everyone looks so miserable and depressed to be a part of this awful, awful film. The movie brings you down and depresses you. It sure did me.
This is not a "fun" gore film like The Evil Dead or Re-Animator. It is more like Pasolini's even more shocking "Salo: The 120 Days of Sodom", but without the intellectual approach of that film. It WILL make you want to turn it off. Seriously, if you're going to see this, just get ahold of Salo instead. Its just as disgusting and its actually a classic, unlike this mess. I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferrox, but those might be more interesting to check out also. From what I've heard CH is a very good movie. Be careful though, there's some very graphic (and 100% real) animal killings in both cannibal films, including cutting open a tortoise and pulling its insides out. But I can assure you that if you've got the stomach, those films are better than the Ilsa movies.

i own and love cannibal holocaust...ive seen it millions of times. that movie got me into those types of films

Is it THAT bad? I'm curious to watch it myself. I've heard so much about it I feel I should check it out. I've heard its actually a really good movie if you can get past the real killings...are they tough to watch?

depends on how you feel bout see turtle guts...a muscrat thingy getting sliced in half....a spider getting squashed...and a pig getting shot...i thinks im missing one but watever

It is not a good movie (like some movies of D Cronenberg and D Lynch). It is something like an amatour movie or a cheap 8mm!

shareI don't know what everyone's problem is. If you don't like hardcore exploitation flicks then don't watch Cannibal Holocaust or Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS. They're both classics and they're both awesome movies!
