In both films the main character, a thief, climbs a tower and enters it from the top to find some sort of a wizard inside. Both sequences are very similar in content and in style.
Anyone else thought this?

....well John Milius and Jodorowsky are just about the same generation of filmmakers. The two movies are only about 10 years apart. Maybe John Milius saw Holy Mountain and either consciously or unconsciously copied the scene for Conan.
yes, this comment stuck in my mind while i was wathing holy mountain,
the violent scenes were similar.. and overdone in both films :D
I just watched La Montaña Sagrada, and it gave me some Conan vibes!; I haven't watched that one in years, an even didn't remembered the tower scene.
