shareThey were actually two different dogs. The "station" where they picked up Myrtle was actually an underpass of the Queensboro bridge. The interiors (including Myrtle's apartment) were filmed in the UK, because of the tax breaks and labor costs of the time. To bring a dog into the UK required a 6 month quarantine. Karen Black actually picked out the wrong puppy, so they had to find a match at short notice.
