SOMEONE PLEASE explain the ending to me. He finally gets himself.poo it poo f debt and trouble only to.risk his getting cut with a razor'? YET?

I think he wanted to get cut or scared, so he would have a constant reminder ever time he looked in the mirror

I got the impression that winning the point shaving basketball bet didn't give him the same "rush" or thrill that he once felt whenever he won a bet. So, in order to feel that same rush that he craved, he's forced to take it to another level. Thus he must risk more than just money, but his life.
