would assume because a team is up or covering the spread at half time that thy would havecovered the line when the game is over? There's not a gambler alive, especially one in it as deep as Caan's character was, that wouldn't have known those 3 games weren't winners.

Gamblers love to think of the worst way imaginable to lose lol. I didn't get this either.

He wasn't a professional gambler, he was a professional loser. He made that wage with an 18 because he "felt it". He was an idiot, an addict, and a total *beep* loser. Not some ace gambler.

You're right about that. The only reason someone would hit on 18 is either because they're drunk from all the free drinks from the cocktail waitress, or they're one hell of a good card counter!

The movie is about addiction not gambling. He doubles down on 18 because he is "blessed". He never cares about the money , just the high. He loves winning but "it never lasts".
