Does this movie include a scene where a police car hit a wall and is splitted in two ?

The only film i know where a car splits in two is the original Freaky Friday with Jodie Foster, I think it was a Red VW Beetle.

I remember seing this movie clip when I was young (late 70s). It featured a police car running into a very sharp wall. We saw a shoot taken from above showing the stopped police car splitted in two.
Each policeman open the door, exit the car and slams their door at the same time.
It was very funny and I still wonder what this movie is.
I think it was Freaky Friday. I remember it being a police car, not a VW Beetle. The car chase happened in one of those dry river culverts in LA - also seen in Terminator 2 and To Live And Die In LA.
