so i talked to warner home video...

So I talked to this lady at Warner home video last week about Freebie and the Bean. What a bummer.

"Freebie and the what? ", she told me. I know i was young at the time it came out, but am i going crazy or was this film a BIG hit when it came out? It was the first buddy cop film of it's time. Top stunt men too.

So just to let everyone know that we are going to have to make a big noise/education to the people who own it!

They do not know they have one of the best comedy's EVER made. .......DVD or bust! heeheehee

Yeah, I've been waiting for this to come out on DVD for a long time, too. I saw in in the theatre many times when I was a teenager, and I have a bad VHS copy that was commercially released back in the 80's (cropped, poor picture quality, etc.). Considering some of the other junk that's being released on a daily basis to DVD, it's a wonder why this all-but-forgotten comedy has been left out of the loop. And having not seen it in many years, I wonder if it still holds up or looks dated?

You are so lucky to have seen this in the movie theater when it came out...my father says that when James Caan ran over the top of a car with a motorcycle he nearly lost it he laughed so hard...and Alan Arkin yelling at Valerie Harper from the street! I have only seen this once on late night TV...hope it comes out on DVD some day soon. A HUGE FAN! Steve O.

TIVO alert! "Freebie and the Bean" will be aired on INHD2 early Wednesday morning - May 17, 2006 at 2-4am. Record it and transfer it to DVD; problem solved. Well almost - it won't be 2.35:1 and anamorphic.

Please let the lady at Warner know that this movie is one of the BEST of ALL TIME! I have written to Alan Arkin and James Caan trying to help convince the studio to put this out on DVD! Thanks, Steve O. Diamond Bar, CA LOL FUNNY!
