Just watched the DVD version

I saw this movie on cable in the 80's on HBO or some such channel. I remember some dialog being different and was wondering if anyone else noticed. One scene in the DVD had Freebie saying " the Lone Ranger and his sidekick *beep* In the version I saw on TV I remember it being "the Lone Ranger and his sidekick Tonto-nose". So I'm wondering if it was edited for TV or for the DVD. I suspect *beep* may have been more offensive in the '80s than "Tonto-nose".

Hehe. I just now looked for a response to my message and from the *beeps* I guess the political correct police intervened during the showing of the HBO version back in the '80s. Hmm. I didn't think PC started that early, but evidently it did. Apparently on the DVD, they had the original line, which isn't that offensive, but I'm not PC.

P.S. It's sad that we can't have a discussion of language due to software-enforced edits like that which occurred in my post. I suppose I could try to get around the edit with punctuation, but should I have to?
