A Brand New Uncut...

...completely restored dvd release of this film is needed desperately, I vaguely recall seeing this years ago, and for some reason it's the Frankenstein movie I want to see the most and i'm sure there are many others of you who feel the same.

I really don't know why it's so difficult to find given that almost EVERYTHING is available today, are there some rights difficulties?? I know that full complete versions have been released on VHS and on Laserdisc in Japan I believe...

Can we e-mail someone asking about this?? Any ideas??..

I'm replying to my own post here (thanks for that) but as Hammer are remastering and re-releasing some of their films on blu-ray it seems we may see a fully complete, or as complete as possible version released sometime this year or next...

the thing that really made me happy is that the releases so far have included a dvd version of the disc aswell for people like me who havn't jumped onto the blu-ray bandwagon yet.

I'll reply to you! Lol. I'm a big Hammer fan, and let me also tell you - it's time to jump on the blu-ray bandwagon. It's definitely worth it. Unfortunately, all of the Hammer blu-ray releases so far have been just for the UK. I'm in the States and I really wish they'd release them for us. The Curse of Frankenstein and Horror of Dracula are both said to be coming soon, both with restored footage, I believe, and in their original aspect ratio, which is something blu-ray really champions. I'm actually watching this movie right now on Netflix in HD and it looks pretty great. I love the grittiness and the hardened version of Frankenstein Cushing plays in this last Frankenstein movie. A fitting end to the series, I think.

You'll be glad to know Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell is being released to Blu-ray in the UK, and it's fully uncut! I've currently got the German DVD, but as soon as the Blu-ray is released I'll be grabbing it. It's my favourite (along with Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed) of Hammer's entire Frankenstein series.
