Does anyone know what the related or origins of the film's stories from 1001 nights? The film borrows from many stories but can anyone please refer me to the exact names of the stories or a reference of a book/article/website that illuminates this?

there are several stories in pasolini's version but not well known ones, these include the main story which is ali shar and zumurud (though i also see a bit of noureddin and the fair persian), also included are the porter and the three ladies of baghdad and aziz and aziza, among many others.
