what a beautiful soul

what a beautiful soul that Dersu Uzala was.

naive, innocent like a child. At the beginning of the movie, I thought, wow, this is going to be a nature film, lots of green, rivers, animals... But in some parts Dersu`s character overshadows the nature! Amazing!

Interesting, I wasnt sad when he was killed, I thought, finally he is gonna be with his kid and children, and become one with the nature.

Imagine what it would look like if all humans are like Dersu.

I think that's a very patronising comment. Naive and innocent of an urban lifestyle that is increasingly dominated by technology, yes. Naive and innocent in life, no.
A bird sings and the mountain's silence deepens.

I agree with you. Early in the film, he remarks that it is the soldiers who are like children, because they could not perceive the subtleties of the tracks as Dersu did.

I agree that he was a beautiful soul, but I don't think he was naive or innocent at all. He experienced many awful and wonderful things, and saw the world in a way that was perhaps different than ours, but was equally valid.
