I watched the Remake before the original. The remake was fun. The original had better characters and Bronson did a better job. His reluctance to violence at the beginning and his vigilante actions at the end show a better progression of the character. I watched the other films after and this one is still the best.

I thought the remake was horrible. And that's not easy for me to say, being a fan of director Eli Roth. I would much rather prefer the original film.

I like the gritty '70s New York style that the original has a lot better. The new one felt really polished.

I say the original is the best. The remake was just awful.
