similarities with John Carpenter's THE FOG

An ancient evil returns to wreak havoc on a quiet seaside town.

There are strange goings on at gas stations, supermarkets, and movie theatres.

Crisp widescreen photography.

An unresolved ending.

Does any of that sound familiar? Okay, Carpenter's film is rooted more in the everyday whereas MESSIAH OF EVIL goes for the dream / nightmare approach, but the similarities are quite striking.

I could certainly see playing them as a kind of double-feature. I might do that.

Yes I can see some influence. But I think there may be some MOE influence in John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness" also.

I think the Fog borrows a bit from "Tombs of the Blind Dead" as well.
