This indeed is very cool. First Sole Survivor, now this- my two favorite obscure movies.
I have to admit though, that song, at least for me, was part of the charm of this movie.
Hell yeah! I'll buy two of 'em!
shareI know this is years later, but in reference to the Code Red dvd release mentioned here, is that actually a decent clear copy of this film?
I am getting tired of the two versions I have that are different levels of blurry. Like the EP of a vhs or worse. One of them came in one of those 50 movie packs so it was understandable in that case. Out of all the poor quality dvds I have, Messiah of Evil is one of the top 10 or so that I'd like to have a better copy of.
.
The Code Red DVD looks good, the Blu-ray is even better. Both are in the original aspect ratio and contain extras. Definitely many steps up from the bargain full-screen versions you're referring to.
shareUnfortunately though, the Code Red dvd of Messiah is out of print and used copies of it are selling on Amazon starting at $30. I won't pay that much just to get a copy of a single film. I hope someone else re-releases the restored version soon.
I don't read tweets. I don't write tweets. And I don't like people who do.
I didn't want to pay that much either so I got a cheap, public domain copy of the film. The film itself is so good that I didn't even mind the DVD was a bit low quality picture-wise. I will be sure to watch it again many more times.
