Where are the females 10-40?

Any idea why there are only little girls and older women?
The youngest woman is the mayor's wife and I would guess she is at least 40.
The young girls are orphans.
Are the young men that drive the cars not allowed to date?
What keeps them from leaving the town?

Where all the females 18-40 are? In the big cities, of course.

Inevitably the stuck-up broads open their mouths and are run over, some of the plain ones make it to old age
