Out of Print?

why is the criterion edtion of this film out of print now? If anyone has any anwsers please let me know. Thanks.

reply

Because it didn't sell well. You can buy them on amazon for around $70 or go on ebay and search.

thanks for the advice. I went on to amazon and got it for 55 dollars. They must have a ton of overstock of this movie even though it's a criterion because they have it down to 20% off.

Its being re-released tomorrow, albeit not in Criterion Form, along with Flesh for Frankenstein.

Very Shocking info .... Looks like Image Entertainment has re- issued the DVDs for Flesh For FrankenStein and Blood for Dracula and very interesting to note this may be a FIRST but both DVDs are identical in DISC content same as the Criterion Releases that are now OOP selling for very high prices. These new editions do not have as cool cover art work as the Criterion Collection DVD editions but the commentary tracks are the same as the Criterion releases even if you listen Paul M. DIR for Flesh for Frankenstein even says the track is for Criterion. and the best new additon to these two releases the transfers are NOW anamorphic 16:9!!!!! So these DVDs are better than the ones released by Criterion which never really happens!

Not only are the transfers new and the original extras included, but there are a couple of new Special Features added: an audio look back at the films by the director, as well as screen tests...all for LESS than what Criterian was charging. (I love what Criterian does, and what they have to offer, but I question their pricing practices. Sometimes the material is well worth the cost, but if you look at what was on the DVDs of, say, THE BLOB or FIEND WITHOUT A FACE, it is hard to justify the extra expense.)
