sharewhat makes brooks a comedic genius is that a lot of his humor is timeless. A lot of his work is just as funny now as it was 40 years ago.

Slim Pickens (Taggart) died in 1983, Cleavon Little (the sheriff) in 1992, Madeline Kahn (Lily von Shtupp) died in 1999, Harvey Korman (Hedley Lamarr) in 2008, Alex Karras (Mongo) died in 2012, David Huddleston ("never mind that sh-t, here comes Mongo!") only died 3 weeks ago, and now Gene.
Cleavon died of cancer at 53, Madeline of cancer at 57. pretty sad.
in fact, John Hillerman (Howard Johnson) is 85 and still kicking.
but yeah, Mel Brooks wins at 90. he's gonna hit 100 like Kirk Douglas.
Even Buddy(Dom DeLuise) is dead. However, Carol Arthur-DeLuise(Harriet Johnson) is still alive who was the only one with a major speaking part still alive.
