Cleavon Little singing
Just watched the movie for the first time in probably 30 years.
Does anyone know if Cleavon Little does his own singing? At times, I could have sworn it was Nat King Cole if I closed my eyes.

That was definitely Cleavon Little's voice on "I Get A Kick Out Of You." Before he starred in "Blazing Saddles," he appeared in the Broadway production of "Purlie," for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Dude could SING.
Besides, Nat King Cole died years before this movie was made.
shareI have just about every recording a certain Mr. Nathaniel Coles ever recorded, and Cleavon did not sound like Nat.
BUT, Cleavon Little did have a very good professional voice and did well to emulate that smooth 40s black sound perfectly. Nice voice, well modulated - just not Nat King Cole.
