i'll never believe how bob clark made two christmas movies that are so dramatically different

he made two of the most dissimilar and diametrically opposed films ever made which happened to take place around Christmas. it's a testament to how genius and brilliant of a director that he was that he was able to make the best Christmas horror film of all time and one of the best Christmas comedy and family films of all time. i mean how many directors can say they made one of the best horror films ever made and one of the best comedy/family films ever made?

Yeah, it shocked me when I found out he directed both films. A Christmas Story is my favorite Christmas film. I would not change a thing about it. I have watched it countless times.
I am not a fan of the Christmas horror concept. I like horror films at Halloween and generally feel good films at Christmas. But I have to admit Black Christmas is a genuinely creepy unnerving film that works remarkably well this time of year. From the opening scene, this film has a chilling feel that never lets up. It's not gory hardly at all and yet it is quite disturbing. I would even go so far as to say this is as good, and maybe a little better, than Carpenter's Halloween.
