An excellent film

I highly recommend this film. I happened across it on cable about a year ago and watched it every chance I got since then. I just found it at Borders yesterday and bought it. Have watched it 3 times since. I don't think enough people know about this movie judging from the posts here.

An excellent film indeed. Saw this movie countless times on TV in the 70s. Became a fan of Ellen Burstyn.

I went to film school because of Scorsese and Alice is my secret favorite. It's a world I know. I can't say enough good things about it. I just love it. I just love it!

One could argue that Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore is Scorsese's most underrated film. It's definitely among his best.

Excellent movie. I grew up watching the t.v. series and always thought it was funny. After watching the film i realized how the series did not do justice to the unique qualities of the movie.

I disagree. I think it's totally overrated.

I finally watched this film because I was off work sick and had nothing better to do, and really can't understand why it's so famous.

The son is nothing but a precocious, indulged, whining, annoying brat.

The music was dire the first time round, and not something I wanted to re-encounter (Mott the HOOPLE? Marc BOLAN? )

And the ending - what a cop-out.

All in all, a life-draining experience. - I'd rather have the 1 hour and 45 mins of my life back, which I could spend doing something more entertaining - like loading the dishwasher.
