font used on movie poster?

I love the very-70's-looking font used in the title on the movie poster, and for a number of years have been wondering what style it is. It looks somewhat like Helvetica, except for the funky "A." Any font experts out there?

I'm glad people are still interested in typography. I certainly am.

I'm thinking it's Helios Light or Helvetica Light for the names of the stars, and Helios Bold or Helvetica Bold for the film's title. (Helios is very similar to Helvetica.) Those funky angled "A's" in the title are probably a stylized use of Helios for art purposes and not part of normal Helios usage.

I've just noticed how the slants in the "A's" in "Alice" and "Anymore" trace the path of the tree branch in the background. I suspect this is why they used the stylize "A's" (in addition to it looking very cool against the "L" and the "N").

Those fonts were very popular in the '70s for their airy look.

As a graphic designer, this is one of my favorite typefaces without doubt...

Its Avant Garde Gothic, designed by Herb Lubalin for Avant Garde Magazine in the 70s.

Hope that helps!
